Drs. Danish Nadeem

WP Leader for:

PhD Student

I am working in the field of multimedia and speech retrieval within the context of Information Access and Retrieval project (Dutch COMMIT project) at Human Media Interaction department at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.

My education background is in Computer Science (B.Sc., 2002, New Delhi, India).

My curiosity to understand human intelligence from a scientific perspective motivated me to study Cognitive Science specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Linguistics (M.Sc., 2007, Osnabruck, Germany). I also spent some study semesters at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence at the Technical University of Dresden (2003-2004) and at the Department of Computational Linguistics at the University of Saarland(summer 2007). Finally, I concluded my M.Sc. research thesis in context of Semantic Desktop technologies for the EU project [NEPOMUK] with [Dr. Leo Sauermann] at the Knowledge Management Lab of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence [DFKI] in Kaiserslautern, Germany. Since then,

I have been involved in research, development and project management in several EU-funded ICT projects (FP6-FP7): first in the areas of Language Technologies and Semantic Web at Language Technology Lab, DFKI Saarbrucken in Germany (2006-2007) and later in the areas of Education Technologies, Web 2.0 and Social Computing at the Center for Learning Sciences and Technologies at the Open University of the Netherlands (2007-2010).
