About Embedded Systems Innovation by TNO (ESI)

As embedded systems become ever more complex, maintaining the skills and knowledge needed to stay ahead in industrial product innovation is a growing challenge for companies, large or small. By pooling resources and sharing knowledge and expertise in an open innovation ecosystem, these challenges are much easier to overcome. At ESI, we partner with experts from across industry and academia, to develop and share new approaches and technologies for creating tomorrow's embedded systems.

The ESI was founded to address the growing significance of embedded systems in all aspects of our lives. Our goal is to advance industrial innovation and academic excellence in embedded systems.

We achieve this by bringing together the knowledge and expertise of the world's leading academic minds with the innovative capabilities of some of the most advanced industrial companies in the world. By joining these forces in an open innovation framework, ESI acts as an accelerator and driver for the development and transfer of the embedded systems knowledge needed to meet the requirements of tomorrow's society.

ESI was founded in 2002 by the industry-leading technology companies ASML, Océ Technologies, Philips and TNO along with the top technical universities of Delft, Eindhoven and Twente in the Netherlands.
