Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Jaghouri
Post-doc at the e-BioScience team at Academic Medical Center (AMC).
He obtained his BSc and MSc degree in software engineering in Iran, and moved in 2006 to the Netherlands for a PhD in computer science.
In 2010, he defended his PhD from University of Leiden. During his PhD, he worked at CWI (Centrum Wiskunde en Informatica) on topics of real-time and distributed systems, formal modeling and verification of software, and application-level scheduling.
Until Feb 2012, he further developed on his PhD work as a postdoc at CWI. Then he moved as a postdoc to Netherlands Metabolomics Center in Leiden University to enable parts of metabolite identification software pipeline for using distributed computing infrastructures.
He continued since 2013 a similar line of research at AMC but mainly with application to Medical Imaging and Next Generation Sequencing. In these years, he has been applying scientific workflows on Grid and Cloud infrastructures to address problems like high-performace computing, big data and high-throughput analysis.
