Grant for easy accessible disclosure of High Performance Computing Components

Grant for Science Gateways Project by the High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) Fund of the University of Amsterdam.

Valorisation

As valorisation of the research carried out in COMMIT/project e-BIOBANKING, a Science Gateway for analysis of Large-scaleNeuro-imaging data has been deployed for neuroscientists of the AMC.

In 2013 the Neuroscience Gateway has been launched, and it is currently in use for various neuroscience studies.

The operation and user support of this gateway has been possible in 2013 with a grant by the High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) Fund of the University of Amsterdam.

Valuable

The results of this project were considered valuable by the HPCN steering committee (see email below).

In March 2014 Dr. Sílvia Olabarriaga from the AMC received again a Grant from this fund (70,000€) for the project “Science Gateways for Data Analysis on Advanced e-Infrastructures”.

The project aims to continue and extend science gateway support for researchers of the University of Amsterdam.

Future

This project will further develop the AMC Neuroscience Gateway, as well as complete the development and deploy a new gateway for molecular docking (important for drug design) and to start the development of the gateway for management and sharing of genomics data for immunology researchers.

Prof. Dr. Antoine van Kampen, Dr. Boris Bleijlevens and Dr. Mathaan Caan are co-applicants of this Grant and serve as representatives of the medical bioinformatics, biochemistry and medical imaging researchers who (will) use the gateways.
