COMMIT/partner's - Sense Observation Systems - Goalie wins 3rd prize

The Goalie app was awarded the 3rd prize in the European SME eHealth Competition. Jan Peter Larsen of Sense Observation Systems proudly accepted the award from the hands of EC Vice-President Neelie Kroes in Dublin, last Monday.

Goal oriented therapy

Goalie was commissiond by PsyQ and developed in close collaboration with ASK. The smartphone app supports patients suffering from psychological problems. It offers a program of cognitive behaviour therapy with a goal oriented approach.

Together with their therapist, patients configure tasks and goals for themselves. The app uses the phone's sensors and data from other sources to see if those goals are completed.

The first version of the Goalie app is aimed at patients with problems related to anxiety and depression. In the future, the app will be used to treat an even broader range of mental disorders.

Most promising small company

The EU SME eHealth Competition was organized as a satellite event to this year's eHealth Week, and is endorsed by the Health and Well-Being Unit of DG CONNECT of the European Commission.

The finals were held on May 13th. Fifteen of the most innovative and promising European SME's, including Sense, were given the opportunity to present their innovation to visitors of the eHealth Week.
